Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

This policy explains what personal data berkanium.net ("the Site") collects, why it is collected, and what rights you have over it. The short version: the Site collects as little as possible, never sells anything, and only processes what you actively submit through its forms.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The Site is operated by Berkan Yılmaz as a personal technology website. For any privacy-related question or request, contact: hello@berkanium.net. Data is processed in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and, where applicable to visitors from the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data is collected, and when

2.1 Data you submit through forms

The Site contains three forms — project brief, consulting request and training request. Depending on the form, the following may be collected: full name, e-mail address, phone number, company name, website URL, industry, project details you write, budget and timeline information, participant counts, and any file you choose to attach. You always see exactly what is being collected, because you type it yourself. Each form requires your explicit consent via a checkbox before submission.

2.2 Data collected automatically

The web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent) for security and error diagnosis. These logs are not used for profiling and are rotated on a regular schedule. The Site does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels.

2.3 Local storage

The Site stores a single preference in your browser's local storage: your theme choice (light / dark / system). This value never leaves your browser and contains no personal information. No tracking cookies are set.

3. Why the data is processed (legal bases)

  • Responding to your request — when you submit a project, consulting or training form, your data is processed to evaluate and answer that request (KVKK Art. 5/2-c; GDPR Art. 6/1-b: steps prior to entering a contract).
  • Your explicit consent — given via the checkbox on each form (KVKK Art. 5/1; GDPR Art. 6/1-a).
  • Legitimate interest — server logs kept for security, abuse prevention and error diagnosis (GDPR Art. 6/1-f).

4. Where the data goes

Form submissions are stored in the Site's own database and trigger an e-mail notification to the site operator. Data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for marketing. It may be disclosed only where a legal obligation requires it, or to infrastructure providers (hosting, e-mail delivery) acting as processors under appropriate agreements.

5. How long it is kept

  • Form submissions: for the duration of evaluating and, where applicable, performing the requested work, then archived or deleted when no longer needed.
  • Attached files: stored in private (non-public) storage and removed together with the related request.
  • Server logs: short rotation cycles measured in weeks, not years.

6. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and GDPR Articles 15–21, you may at any time:

  • ask whether your personal data is processed, and request a copy of it;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten") — including any form submission you have made;
  • object to processing or withdraw a previously given consent;
  • request restriction of processing while a dispute is resolved.

To exercise any of these, send an e-mail to hello@berkanium.net from the address you used in the form. Requests are answered within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Turkish Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Form endpoints are rate-limited and protected against cross-site request forgery. Uploaded files are validated by type and size and stored outside the public web root, accessible only to the authenticated site operator. Passwords for the administration area are stored using modern one-way hashing.

8. Children

The Site's services are directed at professionals and businesses and are not intended for children under 16. No data is knowingly collected from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Continued use of the forms after an update constitutes acceptance of the current version.
